Freaky to boring

As my building is on the edge of the "frozen zone" - a result of the freaky steam pipe explosion - I had the day off today. I actually think you can access the building through a complex web of underground tunnels that allow access to Grand Central, but when I got the email at 7am I was not about to complain about the free day.

Now, I will... I am so bored. I have already read the newspaper, watched tv, gone shopping, loafed around, went to the gym and even blogged (well, I'm doing that now, but it counts). Days off in the middle of the week sounds like a great idea, but without someone to hang out with it gets pretty boring.

Ok, the rain let up so I'm headed outdoors. Hope you had a great day at work (hehe, yes it does feel good to say).

It's a Tourist City

I totally understand why the city is flooded with tourists around the christmas holiday - it's beautifuly decorated, almost magical and although it's cold it's still manageable. Why the tourists flood during the unbearable summer months, I just don't understand.
