The Dark Ages... Well, Almost

Just before noon today our whole email system went down. I figured they'd be on that and have it back up within 20 minutes so I headed out for an early lunch. Only it wasn't a simple problem and we were totally down for the entire afternoon. This would normally be a big problem, but I have two closings tommorow and there is a lot that has to be done so it was a huge problem. I actually had to use the fax. How archaic! I couldn't even figure out how to get people's numbers, as I usually go to my Outlook contacts or to old email signatures. It literally took me 20 minutes to think to go to the web. And I finally gave out my yahoo address, but there is something very wrong about getting work emails on my personal account. It's just wrong.

I checked just now and we are still down. That could make for a very complicated morning and a long catch up time to get through them when the system comes back.

(Lucky for this event so I could sneak a second post into November, huh?).

Marathon Sunday 2006

marathon_06.jpg

I set myself at 83rd street and 1st Avenue and watched as all the marathoners went by (just before the 18th mile marker). I was not alone as we cheered on the front runners, middle-pack, Lance Armstrong, wheelchair division and even a guy who was sitting on a skateboard (legs cut at the thigh) and pumping with his arms. Remarkable!

After a few hours, my friends and I went out to the bar for some drinks. All that cheering is hard work, you know?
