September 10, 2006The Two Inch BeastI spoke too soon. Friday night I got home from my trip at 9 and started to get ready to hang out for the night. I was chatting with my friend and getting ready and gave out a huge scream as I saw a little mouse dart right into my room. Oh now if there are little guys hanging out in the kitchen that's one thing, but I do not like the idea of these little guys hanging out in my sleeping space. I set a plan into motion and stratigecally set up some traps in the mousies path. Within five minutes, I heard a rustling and I knew I had been sucessful. I was right. Trouble is that it was a glue trap and his front half was hanging off (not sure how he pulled that off). I wasn't sure if he would excape (and that would definately keep me from sleeping) so I took a deep breath and very carefully lifted up the little house but the tray started to come out because he was grabbing at the carpet. I almost felt bad as this two inch beast was doing all he could to save himself. Almost. I texted, my friend, Mo to tell him of my adventures and his response was "Welcome to New York". It was my first laugh since the grand disposition. The good news is that we had an exterminator come over the weekend and he patched holes we didn't even know we had. Plus he provided some bait that is supposed to kill them real fast.

September 07, 2006Crackberries, road trips and little miceI have a five property closing tommorow so needless to say I have been crazed with things this whole week and making sure everything is ready for the handoff. That is no easy task and to top it off I'm headed to Boston tommorow for a work trip. To ease the pain and make sure everything happens according to plan, I'm borrowing a blackberry for the day. (Yes, I am not important enough to have one all the time.) IT set it up for me and gave it to me mid day. From about noon to 5, I think I received 300 emails and this thing buzzed in advance of every single one. I desperately wanted to figure out how to turn that off (and so did my neighbor), but I could hardly find the time to go get diner or run to the loo so that never happened. Buzz...Buzz... Oh and the mice are back sharing my living space. Ok, they really only seem to be in the kitchen area. I haven't spotted any but my roomate has had a couple of spottings. The super will be here tommorow.
