September 25, 2005I don't care, it's not just hair! With all that's going on down south, I feel very guilty and superficial for what I'm about to write. I'm going to write it, though, so I'll just get on with it. I should have learned by now that hair dressers are evil. Maybe if I call them "hair cutters" from now on, or maybe even "hair choppers" I'll be able to remember the damage that can be done. It all started when my usual stylist, oops I forgot already, my usual chopper couldn't be there when I needed to get a trim. I know you all know where I'm going but I'll reiterate, I was there for a trim what I walked out with was nothing of the sort. I often wonder if anyone else can see the amount of hair that drops to the floor when they are "evening out the ends" or "trimming some of the bulk". It was so scary listening to the sicors chopping away. I haven't cried at the salon since junior high (that's the time I work a baseball cap to school for an entire week). I can't even believe that I am about to admit it, but I actually cried at the salon. It's been a long recovery since my last

September 11, 2005A Horse of Course
While out in Glacier, we hiked around 45 miles. That total includes one two dayer. But we also found time for other adventures including canoeing and horseback riding. It was my first time on a horse and I think I'm hooked! For more info on our trip look here.

September 10, 2005Hey Bear!I spent a week with my brother in Glacier National Park and was looking, at every turn, for a bear. We wanted to see a bear from "a safe distance", hmm... the most common phrase used when discussing sightings. Basically, we wanted our encounter not reported on the nightly news and definately not to include the word "mauling". Unfortunately we never saw a bear but we were shooken up enough by a sighting moments before us of a bear that was not in such good spirits. From that moment on - "safe distance" took on a whole new meaning.
