February 28, 2005Mooch-aholicMy move-in date to the apartment couldn't make me any happier. I have continued my constant shuffle from one friend's place to the other. Today and tommorow that means I'm commuting by train into the city. Could they make the train seats any more uncomfortable? Granted, on the way in I was still able to fall fast asleep - head nodding along the ride. I ate lunch today in Grand Central. Did I mention that I have an endless number of choices for food without having to put on my coat and go outside. Should I feel like popping on my coat, for an adventure outside, I could eat for years and never repeat visit. But Grand Central has good food. I was a bit skeptical pre-tasting, but have been pleasently surprised by the salads, sandwiches and soups. Today the guy yelled at me because I didn't know how to order my salad. Salad nazi's!

February 16, 2005The U.E.For some reason, the original entry here irritated me so I'm taking it off. I have in the past altered a posted entry but this is the first total removal (well, I guess I will just say that I'll significantly alter it). I looked at a bunch of apartments in the city and had a couple that were good but one that I really wanted. I got offered one of the *good* ones, but was determined that I could juggle through this and everything would work out. (Hey, after waiting for nearly three months, I'll be starting at my number one pick job/company.) After a bit of stressing and craziness, I did get the apartment I wanted. Obviously something would have come along, but it is nice to have things settled. I move in sometime around March 1. Please forward all my mail to zip code 10021, New York City.

February 15, 2005SapsterIn the spirit of the Oscars and the Grammy's, I thought I would do a little shout out of thanks myself. I have been going through the grueling process of trying to relocate to New York City and the effort is nearing completion. I definately couldn't have done it without my friends who offered up their places to make commutes easier and have showed me around (or just told me to avoid looking at apartments in *certain* neighborhoods). And to all the support from everyone when I was looking for a job (what a process!). Everyone has a place to crash in the city as long as I survive here. Thats all for now before I get too sappy!

February 13, 2005The Turning Tide
I accepted the position that I flew back from Montana to interview for. Won't it be such a good christmas party story? It only took nearly three months to close the deal, but I'm not complaining. I am so excited, because I'm moving to New York! Now I'm full into the apartment search. I wish I had some good stories about crazy people, but I've only met sweet people so far in the hunt. I have been up and down the east side (working right near grand central) and am hopeful for at least two places. Keep your fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly. Does it ever?
