Oh no snow!

I heard the hype, "blizzard of '05" they said. "We'll be stuck in our houses all weekend." "It's gonna be crazy."

I didn't believe the hype, but I was wrong (well, actually I definately wasn't stuck in my house and I really do believe that I will be set free tommorow because the skies should be finished dumping on us by mid-day). But it definately is a blizzard!

For some reason I can't figure out how to run the dam snow-blower, either. I had that thing crankin and then it just fizzled out. I tried filling it with gas and then just going slowly, but it was a no go nova! What did they do before snow blowers? Well, I found out - the hard way - because I busted my ass for hours (multiple trips) pushing snow off the driveway and heaving it over the already massive snow heaps.

The sincerly depressing part was that while I was walking up the driveway, I saw the top already had another inch. Some people love this stuff, but I'm not so sure I'm sold on it.

It's Like My Right Arm

I was so productive this afternoon at work. Well, I was productive in my quest to find a new direction in my career. I spent the whole afternoon researching different companies and trying to apply and talk to heaps of folks.

So I left work feeling all smart and proud of myself. (foreshadowing, of course) I took off on my hour-long commute home and... realized ten minutes away that I didn't have my purse! haha!

I thought about just ditching it and getting it all tommorow. I didn't even consider till much later that would mean that I would be driving without a license. No, I was freaking out because I would have been without my cellphone. GASP! I did the only logical thing... I did not pass go, I drove straight back to the office, parked illegally outside, put the hazard lights on, ran upstairs, grabbed my purse, then U-turned right back to the highway.

Pre-cellphone, I would have just picked it up tommorow. What have I become?

The Year of...

Happy New Year!

As is the tradition, I decided to put together some resolutions that will help make me a better person during the upcoming year. Should I give up chocolate or coffee (uh, dream on). Oh yeah by the way I tend to confuse New Years resolutions with Lent. Previous resolutions include: giving up A1 steak sauce and fast food. Proudly, I'll report that I pretty much kept those (occasional bursts accepted).

This year I think I was a little more traditional.

  • Finish my New Zealand scrapbook - let's see, I've been home for nearly six months and I have completed six pages. Yeah, I've got a long way to go

  • Read the newspaper- this uninformed human needs to get informed

  • Get a job - the aggrivation and depression with investing heaps of time to just get rejected is going the way of 2004 and it is time to focus and get a great job

Now that I've logged them on the all remembering internet, I can't escape them. Let them be written, let them be done.

Good luck with all of your resolutions!
