Off the Road

I made the 16,000km venture (20 hours) back home on Friday to be here for my friend's bridal festivities. The decision brought me home a few weeks earlier than I originally planned, but it was well worth it to be here for her bridal shower and bachlorette party.

Since I've been back I've been adjusting back to the US of A pretty decently. It's a lot of fun to meet up with small groups of friends that I haven't seen in so long. It's also nice to have more clothes to choose from (and my slippers!). The landscape here is pretty flat and driving up to Hartford is a boring task. I've begun sifting through all my photos and it should be exciting to put them all in an album.

The best surprise was the sun. I left New Zealand close to the shortest day and came back here close to the longest. I was used to the sun rising at about 7:30am and when the sun peaked into the sky at about 5:30am I was ready to get up. Whoa!

It's the future that is more daunting to think about. I scooped up a promotion job I had before I left that was able to give me hours right away (how awesome is that?). But it'll take a bit of research to figure out the next step.
